The account bar, which appears alongside the home page, provides quick access to all your accounts and is divided into activityĬenters that categorize your accounts in logical groups.

The Quicken Home page is a central locationįor all your account information, where you can access, organize, and update account information view a big picture of yourįinancial health and well-being and explore your net worth. Whether you’ve been following along so far with installing and setting up Quicken or you’ve already been exploring other chaptersĪnd features, this chapter brings it all home-to the Quicken Home page, that is. The change to no longer show unpaid entries in the reconciliation window just happened.Select Accounts to Include in Your Net Worth Quicken would ask me if I wanted to mark that bill as paid, and then it would mark it as paid and check it for reconciliation. When I got my checking statement, and was reconciling, when I saw that I had paid BMW $250, I’d check that payment in reconcile. You may not have realized this, since your process does not work that way, but mine did.įor example, if I had a automatic payment to BMW every month for $250 on the 15th, that was scheduled in my register by Quicken. If you clicked on a grayed out scheduled payment, it would ask if you wanted to make the payment as paid, and you could do it there. Until the last few minor point releases in Quicken Mac, you could move scheduled payments to paid during the reconciliation process. My main checking account has entries since 1993. I take most updates a month or so after release.

(Just as background, I've used Quicken since it was created on Windows (first on Windows, then on Macs through VMWare, Parallels, etc), and have used Quicken Mac since it was released.

I manually enter my "other" transactions (non-fixed expenses) but I do download transactions, so they match the manually entered ones. I also have all my bills as possible paid directly from the biller's website, either through direct withdrawal from my checking account or through my credit card. This gives me a really good view of "what I have left" for the month in the way of discretionary spending. Of course, my mortgage and other monthly bills are all the same amount and due the same day of the month.but I have Quicken enter them and all my income sources on the first. Most of my utilities are on a monthly "budget" plan with the utility, so those bills are pretty much the same 11 of the 12 months. But you don't do that.Īnd finally, what I do is have Quicken Mac automatically enter all my "fixed" reminders on the first of the month except for those that have variable expenses. Of course, if you actually downloaded transactions they would match to the scheduled reminder.

However, I've been using Quicken Mac since 2016 and the Bills and Income Reminders haven't changed much since then.with the addition of allowing the reminder to be entered automatically a set number of days before they are due.

If it was Quicken 2007, that's an entirely different software as the modern Quicken Mac was built new from the ground up. Not sure what version of Quicken Mac you migrated from. So.in my opinion, your scheduled transactions aren't actually POSTED to the register because:ġ You haven't had them automatically enteredĪnd if they aren't actually posted in the register, they won't show up in the reconcile list. One way to avoid this is to set the scheduled transaction to automatically enter into the register a specific number of days in advance. Click on the clock icon and select Mark as Paid or Skip this Instance. Scheduled transactions not posted have a clock icon appear to the left of the transaction. Even if they are past due (past today's date), you STILL need to manually post them into the register. If your scheduled transactions are in grey in the register, they are either in the future or haven't been posted to the register. If you have scheduled transactions after the reconcile date, they will not appear for reconciliation since they are not included. Transactions must be before or on the reconcile date and posted into the register and have an unreconciled status. The reconcile feature in Quicken Mac is as follows:
